Heather Totten

Clinical Supervisor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist LMFT

Heather is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and provides clinical supervision to our associate clinicians. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University with an emphasis in family and child studies. Her primary theoretical orientation is Psychodynamic and Relational Therapy which means she pays special attention to how interpersonal and family dynamics may have impacted an individual’s current experience, symptoms, and struggles. Heather is also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and frequently incorporates these techniques to help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns that contribute to feelings of anxiety, sadness, and inner criticism.

Heather specialized in working with a diverse range of couples and families by helping them develop more effective communication strategies to increase understanding and reduce feelings of disconnection. Heather has an extensive background in child development and parent education. She holds a certificate in Parent Management Training and has worked with numerous parents to help them navigate the struggles of parenting and develop practical strategies to address the unique challenges of their children and family. Heather brings her experience to our practice and provides training and support to our associates. She is currently not accepting any new clients.
