Jennah Childs
Clinical Supervisor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist LMFT
Jennah is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 15 years of diverse experience in the mental health field working with a wide spectrum of clients including those in crisis, couples, families, individuals, children, and teens. She received a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin’s University and a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences from the University of Washington. Her work has exposed her to diverse settings that include care in hospitals, homes, schools, residential treatment centers, outpatient settings, and court.
Jennah assists her clients in developing the autonomy and tools needed to learn how to acknowledge, bear, and put their emotions into perspective. This is the foundational pillar to her psychodynamic approach to therapy. Childhood and previous traumatic experiences can have a profound influence on present behavior. She works closely with clients to focus on identifying problematic themes and relationship patterns affecting their lives. Guidance to honest intellectual self-reflection and self-examination is where her clients can become aware of the contributing factors to their psychological suffering. Her goal is to help strengthen her clients’ internal resources, empowering them to more effectively process and problem solve to positively enhance their daily lives and resiliently overcome future challenges.
