Samantha Shepherd

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

Samantha is currently located in Los Angeles, CA. As a bilingual associate therapist, she provides services in both English and Spanish. She specializes in working with trauma, relationship/attachment issues, depression, suicidality, addiction, and psychosis. She has experience working with all ages, immigrants, refugees, and is an LGBTQ+ ally. She uses interventions from CBT (including CBT for psychosis), DBT, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, and Gottman Level 1 Couples Therapy.

She has worked with individuals, couples, and families who not only struggle with trauma, attachment issues, depression, anxiety, bipolar, psychosis, self-esteem issues, suicidality, and self-harming behaviors. She also welcomes into session the complexities that culture, sexuality, race, generational trauma, discrimination, language, and identity, can have on our mental health.

"I know how hard it can be to go through life and just feel like the weight on your shoulders is getting a little too heavy to carry. I am here to help you through it by providing client-centered, non-judgmental, trauma informed care. Everyone has their own story and I believe in empowering those to find their way to a more balanced, productive, and happier next chapter. Sometimes we feel alone and it’s hard to ask for help, but we are all deserving of finding purpose and adding meaning to our lives."
