Associate Marriage & Family Therapist AMFT
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with individuals struggling with symptoms of trauma. I have lived in many countries and worked with children, adults, couples and families of different cultures and backgrounds. I am bilingual in my practice and can host sessions in both English and Armenian. I have worked in various settings such as in social services, in private and public schools, and in mental health clinics providing counseling services to children and adults who needed help in processing and alleviating their symptoms of trauma.
Being loved, heard, seen, and understood are the fundamental needs of all human beings. Experiencing joy and having needs met are crucial for both children and adults. My approach to therapy is holistic. I believe in the strong connection between the mind, body, spirit, our relationships, culture, and the environment. You will find yourself in a non-judgmental, compassionate and safe space to explore your feelings and bring about the change you want in your life. I work with adolescents, transitional age youth (TAY), adults, couples, and families as well as with individuals who have experienced domestic violence and homelessness. I mainly use trauma-informed, internal family systems (IFS), relational gestalt, person-centered and solution focused approaches as well as embodiment practices to work in the areas of childhood trauma, c-PTSD, anxiety, depression, relational trauma, parenting, intergenerational trauma, immigration, spirituality, attachment trauma, mindfulness, and life transitions.
