Keshae Carruthers
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist - AMFT
Hi, I'm Keshae Carruthers, drawing upon a foundation built through an earned degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, I am currently pursuing licensure in California. My eight years of service as a military veteran instilled in me a deep understanding of resiliency, grief processing, and the powerful connection between exercise and mental well-being. Leaving my Texas roots after my military tenure, I now apply these invaluable life lessons in my work with clients.
Professionally, I am dedicated to bridging the gap between individuals and essential mental health services within the community. A core tenet of my practice is alleviating the stigma often associated with seeking help, particularly by educating and connecting minority populations to vital resources. In my therapeutic work, I utilize an approach that fosters healthy family dynamics and promotes positive individual change within the context of their broader social systems.
I prioritize open communication and collaboration with my clients, striving to cultivate a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. I work with individuals aged 12 to 64, offering individual, couples, and family therapy. My areas of focus include supporting military veterans and their families, individuals navigating racial trauma and homelessness, as well as those who identify as LGBTQ+.
